World motorcycle sales expected to remain record high in 2025

Motorcycle sales in 111 countries worldwide increased by 2.75 million units year over year to reach a record high of 56.95 million units, surpassing the 56.63 million units sold in 2018.
Despite slower market growth, global sales are expected to exceed 58 million units for the second year in a row, with demand growth of 100,000 to 400,000 units year over year in Pakistan, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, the Philippines, and other countries, setting a new record for the second consecutive year.

Chinese motorcycle manufacturers, whose sales have been sluggish in China, where the global motorcycle market is expanding, are strengthening their overseas business and increasing their market share not only in emerging markets but also in developed markets such as Europe.
Indian manufacturers are also strengthening their overseas operations, creating a severe competitive environment for Japanese global motorcycle manufacturers.

We have published a variety of motorcycle research reports that provide insight into the rapidly changing motorcycle market and industry trends and suggest future directions.
In April 2025, we will focus on India, the world’s largest motorcycle market, and compile the latest information on global motorcycle sales and production data and trends in motorcycle-related regulations.

An English version of the report, which can be used by foreign companies and their overseas offices, is also available upon request.
We hope that this report will be of use to those involved in the motorcycle industry and to new entrants into the industry.
