Shift in Automotive Battery Strategy
Global competition and strategy shift in automotive batteries due to policy changes in various countries
This presentation will cover market and technological trends of lithium-ion batteries and related materials in Japan and overseas, trends in the automotive and battery industries that are accelerating electrification, and the responses and strategies required of each industry.
With research and development of all-solid-state batteries being actively conducted worldwide, mainly by Toyota Motor Corporation, we will also discuss the potential of all-solid-state batteries, taking into account their attractiveness and challenges.
We will also report on our proposals and achievements as an expert member of the “Storage Battery Industry Promotion Council” of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
