SDV multi-layer protection that continues to increase the value of microcontroller-based ECUs even after shipment

The automotive industry has entered a new era of innovation, the era of software-defined vehicles (SDV), due to the rapid evolution of technology.

Looking at the key issues for Japanese passenger car manufacturers, there are many uncertainties such as additional tariffs in the U.S. and sluggish demand for BEVs except in China. On the other hand, from a medium- to long-term perspective, technological evolution of BEVs, SDVs, and AD/ADAS is required.
In addition to the above, we are also facing intensifying competition in the huge Chinese market centered on PHEVs and BEVs, and the stagnant Thai and Indonesian markets, which are Japanese strongholds, due to stricter loans, and the entry of Chinese OEMs into these markets.

In order to enable easy addition and update of vehicle functions and performance, it is necessary to safely realize OTA.
Therefore, the theme of this project is to combine microcontrollers and eSOL’s in-vehicle solutions to safely realize OTA.

We will be involved in the development related to OTA – device selection, how to realize safe and secure OTA in cooperation with each other, and how to consider the Gateway system?
It is important to realize a safe and secure OTA in the form of multi-layered protection in terms of both hardware and software.

On the manufacturer axis, the situation varies from the Toyota Group, which has surpassed the VW Group in terms of production and sales scale even in 2024, to Suzuki, which continues its expansion path mainly in India, to Nissan, which has put off considering a business merger with Honda and is aiming for restructuring.
We have prepared a report that allows you to list these issues in electrification, next-generation engines, SDVs, etc.
