Industry-Government-Academia Initiatives to Expand Use of Recycled Materials for Automotive Applications and Future Prospects
In Europe, a draft ELV regulation has been proposed that includes mandatory minimum recycled plastic content for automobiles, and the establishment of a recycled plastic market to support stable production in Japan’s automotive industry is an urgent and important issue.

The Ministry of the Environment launched the “Industry-Academia-Government Consortium for the Construction of a Market for Recycled Materials for Automobiles” last fiscal year with the aim of promoting the construction of a recycled plastic market through efforts in arterial and venous cooperation.
This presentation will introduce the efforts of the industry-academia-government consortium and the concept of a centralized base for establishing a stable supply system for recycled plastics for automobiles.
