Recent Developments in AI Act and ISO Standards
With the rapid development of AI technology in recent years, the development of ISO standards for AI and the implementation of the AI Act in the EU are progressing.
Under ISO’s SC42, various standards have been published, including ISO/IEC 5338, which specifies the life cycle process of AI systems; the ISO/IEC 5259 series, which specifies data quality standards for reliable AI; ISO/IEC TR5469, which specifies considerations when developing AI systems as a functional safety function; and ISO/IEC 42001, which specifies management systems. 5469, and ISO/IEC 42001, which specifies management systems.
The AI Act will be implemented in phases, with regulations for general-purpose AI (GPAI) models coming into effect this year and for high-risk AI systems next year.
On the other hand, coordination and development of harmonized standards from the viewpoint of international cooperation is also underway.
These trends will serve as extremely important guidelines for companies to ensure reliability, transparency, and ethics in the development and use of AI.
Our experts will provide an easy-to-understand overview of these standards and regulations and how companies should respond to them in the future.
