MEDICEO introduces environmentally friendly stretch film and recycles used stretch film

MEDICEO CORPORATION, a consolidated subsidiary of MEDIPAL HOLDINGS CORPORATION, has begun to contribute to a resource-recycling society by introducing environmentally friendly stretch film made from recycled materials and recycling used stretch film for use in pallet packaging film used to prevent cargo collapse during transportation. The company has begun efforts to contribute to a resource-recycling society.

MEDICEO uses recycled stretch film at its four ALCs (Area Logistics Centers: high-function logistics centers that handle ethical pharmaceuticals and medical materials) in Sapporo, South Tokyo, Nagoya, and South Osaka, and plans to gradually switch from stretch film to recycled stretch film at other ALCs in the future. In the future, other ALCs will consider switching from stretch film to recycled stretch film.

Saitama ALC, one of our logistics centers in the Kanto region, has started doing business with Arisumi21 Corporation, which sells packaging materials, and is promoting the collection and reuse of used stretch film from its logistics warehouse as a resource instead of disposing of it by incineration,
Saitama ALC will contribute to reducing the use of new petroleum-based plastic materials and greenhouse gas emissions from incineration (estimated to be about 3 tons of CO2 per year).

The Group’s main business is wholesaling in the business field of “Medicine, Health, and Beauty” and contributes to the realization of a sustainable society through its business activities.
As a company involved in distribution, we consider the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to be an urgent issue, and have set “decarbonization initiatives” as one of our key issues (materiality), and will promote initiatives to achieve the SDGs by optimizing our overall distribution and reducing our environmental impact.
