The evolution of electric motorcycles continues unabated! The Key is the Smart Factory

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 was held in New Delhi, India, from January 17-22, 2025. The event featured three exhibitions in several sectors, including automobiles and motorcycles, automotive components, tires, batteries, construction equipment, urban mobility, and bicycles.

The global electric motorcycle market is expected to grow toward 2035 due to increasing demand in India, ASEAN, and Europe. In China, on the other hand, demand is expected to decline due to the country’s rapidly aging population and declining birthrate after 2030.
Under these circumstances, China’s leading electric motorcycle manufacturers, such as Yadea, AIMA, and Luyuan, are launching state-of-the-art smart factories with the latest equipment and digital technology, as well as the latest in cost reduction and electric cost efficiency. They are also focusing on developing products that employ the latest battery and motor technologies to reduce costs and improve power efficiency.
Furthermore, we are strengthening and expanding our overseas operations, particularly in Europe and ASEAN countries. Honda, the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, plans to launch a plant dedicated to electric motorcycles in India after 2027 to develop its electric vehicle business in earnest.

Despite the uncertain outlook, the challenges that the automotive industry must tackle are clear. In order to achieve the climate-neutral goals of the Paris Agreement, a technology-neutral approach is required that mobilizes all possible technologies, including not only BEVs, but also engine vehicles, hybrid vehicles, hydrogen, eFuel, and biofuels.
The book is woven to provide a bird’s-eye view of the possibilities and challenges of each technology from a technology-neutral perspective. The book is also richly illustrated with pressing topics such as sustainability-related topics from production to disposal/recycling, and the paradigm shift in development/production/sales through SDV.
