JAPAN MOBILTY SHOW attracts record 475 exhibitors
The mornings and evenings are getting cooler in October, but the automotive industry is hotting up: from 26 October to 5 November, the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023 will be held at Tokyo Big Sight.
The name of the show has been changed from the Tokyo Motor Show from this year. It will be the first time the show has been held in Japan in four years, since before Corona in 2019, and the number of exhibitors will triple from 153 to 475 from the previous show.
Previously, the show was called ‘Motor Show’, but it felt more like an attraction where visitors could experience mobility, including cars, in a more familiar way. This year’s show has the word ‘Mobility’ in the name, and we are looking forward to experiencing the evolution and changes in mobility in person.
Advance information is gradually being released on the official website. It seems that there will be exhibits of new sensations of personal mobility and Gundam-like boarding robots, which is very exciting. Of course, the next generation of BEVs and other new vehicles from automobile manufacturers are also attracting attention. In particular, Chinese car manufacturer BYD, which was a hot topic at the IAA Mobility in Germany last month and is expanding its sales network in Japan, is planning to exhibit at a full-scale booth, which shows how serious they are.
