Car sales in Spain in 2022 fell by 7.3% year-on-year to 959,000 units, the first time since 2014, due to a decrease in disposable income against a backdrop of inflation, while car production increased for the first time in two years to 2.219 million units. Looking at production trends at various companies, a series of investment plans have been announced, including VW Group agreeing to the details of the support provided by the government’s BEV/connected car promotion measure PERTE-VEC and launching the Future: Fast Forward project in November 2022.
